Osteopathy

Listening with the hands.

"The goal of the therapist is to find health – anyone can find disease."

(Andrew Taylor Still, founder of osteopathy 1828, 1917)

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is an independent, holistic form of medicine in which diagnosis and treatment are done with the hands. Osteopathy sees the body as a unit in which everything is contained in order to regulate and heal itself. It is about a healthy interplay between the musculoskeletal system, organs, bony structures, vascular system, fascia, cranio-sacral rhythm and the nervous system. When all these systems interact harmoniously, the body’s functions can run smoothly.

The aim of osteopathic treatments is to release blockages and tissue tension and thus restore mobility. Palpation is “listening” with the hands in order to establish a dialogue with the rhythms and movements of the various tissues. Osteopaths always search for the causes of complaints and do not limit themselves to treating individual symptoms.

I offer osteopathic sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at the Kornkreis practice in Klagenfurt.
The first session includes a detailed anamnesis, a manual examination and a customized treatment. Duration: 50 minutes.
